P.V.S.N. Murthy
The Andhra Cultural & Welfare Society, earlier known as Andhra Film Society was started with the primary aim of promoting cinema in general and Telugu films in particular. It is now 30 years old. The Society has been remarkable successful in its ventures and has already enlarged its activities into other fields of social arts.
1977 - In the First Year
The Society organised its first festival, inaugurated by Sh. L.K. Advani, the then Information & Broadcasting Minister, in which award winning and popular classic movies were screened.
1978 - The 2nd Year
The national premier of ‘Chiranjeevi Rambabu’ which was attended also by the leading artist Smt. Jamuna. The 2nd festival, organized in collaboration with the Telugu Film Society, was inaugurated by Shri B.D. Jatti the then Vice-President of India. Another premier show of the film ‘Nagna Sat yam’ was also held during this year. The Society also honoured Shri B. Satyanarayana and Shri Vijaya Chandra, producers of ‘Sommokodidi Sokokadidi’ and ‘Karunamayudu’ .
1979 - The 3rd Year
The tradition organizing premier film shows continued in the 3rd year with film like ‘Sankarabharanam’, ‘Needa’ and ‘Asha Deepalu’. Film personalities, Sarvashri Vishwanath, Edida Nageswara Rao, Somayajulu, Rajaji etc. were felicitated. Shri Purushotam Kaushik, the then Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting inaugurated the 3rd festival in which 12 film were screened. Including experimental inaugural and devotional films.
1980 - The 4th Year
The 4th festival was inaugurated by Shri TVR Tatachari, retired Justice, Delhi High Court. The valedictory function was presided over by Shri Vasant Sathe, the then Union Minister released the sourvenir on the occasion.
1981 - The 5th Year
Besides organizing the usual film festival during its 5th year, the Society organized training in transcendental Meditation for desirous members at Maharshi Yogi’s Meditation Centre.
1982 - The 6th Year
Movies screened during the festival in 1982, included premier show of ‘Antam Kadidi Arambham’ and award winning “Saptapadi”. To develop a meaningful and purposeful liaison with Telugu Film Industry, eminent personalities like Sarvashri DVS. Raju, M.S.:- Reddy, C.S. Rao, Dasari Narayana Rao, Vijaya Bapineedu, Prabhakara Reddy, S. Gopal Reddy, Vijaya Bhaskara Redy and P. Venkata Subbaiah, character actor Sh. K. Satyanarayana & actresses Smt. S. Janaki and Smt. T. Sharda were enrolled as patrols.
1983 - The 7th Year
A beginning was made in diversification of the activities of the Society in 1983. During this year, the film festival brought films ‘Justice Choudhary’, “Bobbili Puli” etc. for the audience. In addition, it was decided to provide a platform to creative artists to exhibit their talent in the nation’s capital. A dance recital by Kumari Radha Jayaraman was organized which was well received.
1984 - The 8th Year
The society arranged a large number of cultural programmes during 1984, when the Society made its humble beginning in the field of drama. The Society made its presence, felt in the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of Dakshina Bharata Natee Nata Samakhya through a drama ‘Pelli Sandadi’. Encouraged by the response of the public, we staged two playlets during the same year viz. ‘Manastatvalu’ and ‘illucheri Chudu’. We are also proud to have arranged the staging of Mythological drama’ Sri Rama Padukalu’ by Savera Arts, Cudapah, reflecting ever more diversification of our activities. We also entered in the musical field by arranging a musical evening in which Kumari Sudha Paramahamsa sang in the Carnatic style with enchanting flavour. A Burrakatha by Raghav Kumar and party of Vizayanagaram was also arranged during 1984 was held for the first time in commercial theater Archana where popular movies like ‘Ananda Bhairavi’, Bobbili Brahmanna’ and ‘Sreevariki Premalekha’ were screened. The festival was inaugurated by Shri P. Venkata Subhaiah, Governor of U. P.
1985 - The 9th Year
Society achieved another success by commencing simultaneous film shows at two places, namely Azad Bhavan and Maharashtra Rangayan. Jayanti Savitri, an upcoming artist of Vizayanagaram gave Harikatha Kalakshepam, which was well applauded. The Society also staged a full-length play ‘Yadha Praja Tadha Raja’ and the same was also staged at Godavarikhani and Hyderabad under the auspices of Govt. of Andhra Pradesh. We also arranged a music concert by the well known play­back singer Shri S.P. Balasubramanyam and his troupe, at Siri Fort Auditorium, in collaboration with the Janakpuri Tamil Association.
1986 - The 10th Year
Society arranged the presentation of two dance dramas ‘Bhakta Prahlada’ by Smt. Kothapalli Padma and her troupe from Vijayawada, in collaboration with the South Delhi Branch of Andhra Association. We also arranged a Kuchipudi dance programme by nine year old prodigy Km. Maddali Aparna of Nellore. A festival of short plays staged by various dramatic troupes of the capital including our own Society, was arranged. We also staged two playlets ‘Rependi’ and ‘Pagati Veshalu’ during this year.
1987 - The 11th Year
True to its tradition, the Society stages a full length play ‘Inspector General’ in April, 1987, which was received with much acclaim. A repeat performance was given at the IIT Auditorium under the auspices of their Andhra Samiti. We also played a very active part in the Birth Anniversary celebrations of Andhra Kesari Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu in Vigyan Bhawan in August, 1987.
1988 - The 12th Year
Several leading personalities in the cultural field were honoured as part of our 12th Festival in 1988. They included eminent dancer Yamini Krishanmurthi, character actor Gummadi Venkateswara Rao, director Jandhyala, cine artists Smt. Sarada, Shri Chranjeevi and Kumari Radha. Shri T. Subbarami Reddy was conferred the title “Kala Samrat”. The festival was also graced by Shri Romesh Bhandari, Lt. Governor of Delhi, Shri Giridhar Gomango, Union Minister and Sri Madhava Reddy, Chairman, Central Administrative Tribunal.
1989 - The 13th Year
Mini festival of films of hero Chiranjeevi was held in January. Nehru Centenary was celebrated by organizing dramas staged by troupes from Madras and Dakshina Bharata Natee Nata Samakhya. A full length play “Nijamaa Nee Khareedentha” and playlets “Manushlosthunnaru Jagratha”. Gadhiki Talam” and “Lanka Dahanam” were staged. Smt. Krishan Sahai, the then Minister of State for Culture was the Guest of Honour and Late Shri A.R. Mallu, the then General Secretary, AICC was the Chief Guest. During the festival in 1989, Cine Director K. Vishwanth and Union Government Secretaries S/Shri C. Srinivasa Sastry and P. Murrai were felicitated.
1990 - The 14th Year
The Film Festival was inaugurated by Justice Sri K. Jayachandra Reddy, Judge, Supreme Court.
1991 - The 15th Year
The society introduced the system of Life Membership on payment of Rs. 500/-. This has since been increased to Rs. 1000/-. We staged social drama “Samaajam Chaavaniwadu” in February. Smt. Jamuna Cine Artist and MP graced on the occasion. We felicitated Shri S. Vijaya Bhaskar, a Technocraft entrepreneur and Managing Director of Weld Flux Ltd., Hyderabad for his contributions of the industrial sector. The valedictory function was presided over the Shri G. Venkataswamy, the Union Minister for Textiles. On this occasion the famous dance duo Padma Shri Raja Reddy and Radha Reddy were felicitated for their ever-lasting contributions in the cultural field. During the year we had also honoured Mimicry artist Shri Nerella Venumadhav, Shri Krishna, a well-known Andhra Scientist, now active in USA and S/Shri Bharago and Ch. Radha Krishna Sharma on their winning Sahitya Academy Awards.
1993 - The 17th Year
The festival was inaugurated by Justice Sri K. Ramaswami, Judge, Supreme Court and Dr. D. Swaminathan, Member, Planning Commission presided over the function. Disciples of famous dance duo Raja and Radha Reddy gave scintillating dance recital in the valedictory function, and also arranged Carnatic music recital by Sh. K. Muralikrishna.
1994 - The 18th Year
Festival was inaugurated by Hon’ble Union Minister Sh. Giridhar Gomango. On this occasion famous Mridangam artist Dr. Yella Venkateswara Rao was felicitated. Chief Election Commissioner Sh. T.N. Seshan was presided over the valedictory function and AIR flute artist Manda Balarama Sharma was felicitated. We have changed our society name from “Andhra Film Society” to Andhra Cultural & Welfare Society.
1995 - The 19th Year
Festival was inaugurated by Dr. D. Swaminathan. The valedictory function was presided over by Hon’ble Union Minister Sh. P.V. Rangaiah Naidu. Hon’ble Union Minister Sri Giridhar Gomango, Election Commissioner Sh. G.V.G. Krishna Murty were also attended. On this occasion Sh. P. Abraham, IAS and Sh. M. Gopala Krishna, IAS were felicitated, Kumari Deepa performed Karnatic Music.
1996 - The 20th Year
During the 20th Festival Shri G. Atma Charan Reddy (NRI), M.P. was felicitated, Shri K. Padmanabhaiah, IAS, Union Home Secretary, Shri M. Chittaranjan, ITC, Dr. Kidambi Raghunath, USA, America Ammai Fame Kumari Devayani were felicitated through Shri Ramoowalia, Hon’ble Union Minister for Welfare.
1997 - The 21st Year
On the occasion of the inaugural function of the 21st Annual Film Festival of the society held on 14-9-97 by the Hon’ble Union Commerce Minister Dr. B.B. Ramaiah, the Famous Journalist Shri KV.S. Ramasarma, Editor-in­Chief, National Harald, famous industrialist Shri A.V.S. Raju, Chairman, Nagarujana Constructions, Shri J. Rajeshwara Rao, Department of Telecom were felicitated. In the Valedictory function, Shri G.P. Rao, lAS, our President and Secretary, Govt. of India, Shri K.S. Rao, industrialist and Sri Murali Mohan, a noted film actor and Chairman of A.P. Film Development Corporation were felicitated by the Hon’ble Union Minister Dr. S. Venugopalachari.
1998 - The 22nd Year
22nd Annual Festival was inaugurated by Shri G.V.G. Krishnamurty, Election Commissioner and Shri Bommana Ramachandra Rao, a well known Industrialist and Shri K. Satyanarayana Reddy former Governor, UP were felicitated. In the valedictory function, dance performed by duo Mrs. & Mr. Pasumarti Vittal, Shri T. Vijaya Sarthi, HPCL and Shri S.S. Ahluwalia, Former Union Minister were felicitated.
1999 - The 23rd Year
23rd Annual Festival was inaugurated by Sh. Bangaru Laxman, Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways, Sh. C.R. Prasad, GAIL, Sh. U.N.B. Rao, Joint Commissioner of Police, Sh. P. Dwarakanath, Director, Smith Kline Breecham, Sh. V.S. Rao, Director, RR Constructions, Cine Artist, K. Devdass, Sh. Anant and Nishant of Memory Vision and some of Parliament Members like Sh. G. Srinivasa Rao, Sh. N. Venkata Swamy, Sh. A. Narendra, Sh. Dasari Nagabhushan Rao and Smt. C. Suguna Kumari were felicitated.
2000 - The 24th Year
24th Annual Festival was inaugurated by Hon’ble Home Minister of State Sh. Ch. Vidyasagar Rao, Sh. T.R. Prasad, lAS, Cabinet Secretary, Government of India, Sh. M.A Pathan, CMD, Indian Oil Corporation, Sh. B.C. Bora, CMD, ONGC, Sh. Sunil Bharti Mittal, Bharti Enterprises, Dr. K.S. Rao, Safdarjung Hospital, Sh. G. Anand, Playback Singer, Sh. PV.S.N. Murty, Vice President, ALSTOM, Dr. P.L. Sanjeev Reddy, IAS were felicitated including with Kuchipudi Dance Recital by Smt. & Sh. Pasumati. Vithal.
2001 - THE SILVER JUVILEE YEAR
The Society has completed 25 years of service to the Telugu speaking people in the Capital. In celebrations of his successful Silver Jubilee Year. On this occasion, the Society honoured founder members like Sri K.J. Rao of Election Commission of India, Shri B. Pardha Sarathi, Supreme Court Advocate, Shri A Satyanarayana, IIPA, Shri AS.R. Murty, Kakatiya Apartment, Shri M. Venkateswarulu, Banking Division, Ministry of Finance and Dr. C.S. Rao, Additional Secretary, Government of India and Shri Vepa Kamesam, Deputy Governor, RBI and Film Artist Shri Garimela Visveswara Rao were honoured in the inaugural function. The function inaugurated by Supreme Court Judge Justice P. Venkatarama Reddy, in December 2001. Shri A Viswanath, Chartered Accountant presided over the function. In the Valedictory function Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Rural Development Shri Ana Saheb M.K. Patil was the Chief Guest. On that day the Society honoured Justice Shri K. Varaprasad Reddy, MD of Shanta Biotechs, Shri NV.L. Nagaraju (Former General Secretary of erstwhile Andhra Film Society), Shri Kishorebhai, M/s Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri, Shri G. Anand Playback Singer, G. Anand and Party have entertained the invitees with their pleasant musical concert. Shri C.R. Prasad, Ex. CMD, GAIL, presided over the function.

As usual this year also Shri Rama Navami was celebrated with devotion and festivities in collaboration with Andhra Association at Andhra Association Building and also conducted Kartika Vana Bhojanam (Picnic). The Society also organized a Mytholocial Drama and Musical Concert by the Artists of AIR and DD, Cuddapah led by Ravi Kumar at A.P.. Bhawan.
2002 - The 26th Year
The Society wishes to continue its diverse activities in the usual scale. It promises to continue to strive its utmost to provide quality entertainment to the Andhra population and it will not fail the audience in their hopes and aspirations. It is with the cooperation of all the members that the Society has gained an enviable reputation among the cultural organization of the capital and with their continuing cooperation it will try to scale new heights of success.

Festival was inaugurated by Justice Sri M.J. Rao, Chairman of Law Commission. In the valedictory function, Hon’ble Former Prime Minister, P.V.. Narasimha Rao was attended as the Chief Guest. Dr. Nalli Kuppuswamy Chetti of Nalli Group, Shri Doniparthi Venkaiah of USA, the famous Telugu Gazals Singer Srinivas, TV Artist Shri Harikishan, Shri K. Yerrannaidu, Telugu Desam Leader, Shri H:J. Dora, Vigilance Commissioner, Prof. C. Lakshmanna, Special Representative of Govt. of AP, Shri K.S. Sarma, IAS, CEO in Prasar Bharati, Shri, J.V.R. Prasada Rao, lAS, Secretary in Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, famous Telugu. Hero Dr. Rajendra Prasad and Smt. P. Susila, a famous Playback Singer were felicitated.
2003 - The 27th Year
Festival was inaugurated by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Doraiswami Raju, Judge, Supreme Court of India. On this occasion our society felicitated Hon’ble Mr. Justice Doraiswami Raju, Judge, Supreme Court of India and Hon’ble Dr. Justice AR. Lakshmanan, Judge, Supreme Court of India, Shri A.V.S. Reddy, lAS, Secretary, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Govt. of India, Shri K.G. Ramachandran, Director General of Cellular Operators Association of India. The Inaugural Function was presided over by Smt. V. Sushmita Rao. In the valedictory function Chief Election Commissioner of India Mr. J.M. Lyngdoh was the Chief Guest and in his presence, the Society honoured prominent personalities in various fields like Shri P. Abraham, Former Power Secretary, Govt. of India, Shri Maddi Lakshmaiah, King of Tobacco Industry (Chilakalurupeta, AP), Shri Ajay Mehra, Chairman of M/s Mehra Sons & Jewellers. Renowned South Indian Music Director, Mr. G. Anand (Chennai) and his party have entertained the invitees with their grand musical concert.

As usual, this year also, Shri Rama Navami was celebrated grandly with devotion and festivities in collaboration with Andhra Association, South Delhi branch at Andhra Association Building and also conducted Kartika Vana Bhojanam (Picnic). The Society also organized a mytholocial Drama and Musical Concert by the local Artists.
2004 - The 28th Year
The 28th Annual Cultural & Film Festival was inaugurated by Shri Mallu Ravi, Ex-MP and Special Representative of Govt. of Andhra Pradesh in New Delhi, at IIPA Auditorium. On this occasion our Society Honoured Shri Mandava Prabhakar Rao, Managing Director of Hyderabad based Company Nuziveedu Seeds Ltd. And NRI Shri Katragadda Krishna Prasad and arranged Kuchipudi Dance of Dr. Keerthana from America, disciple of Shri Pasumarthi Vitta!. In the Valedictory Function, Shri Kavuri Sambasiva Rao, Hon’ble Member of Parliament was the Chief Guest and in his presence, the Society honoured prominent personalities in various fields like Shri S.B. Mathur, CMD of LIC, Shri S.S. Kohli, CMD of Punjab National Bank, Shri P. Subba Rao, ED of Punjab & Singh Bank, and followed by ‘JUGALBANDI’ Karnatic and Hindustani Music Concert by renowned artist Padma Bhushan Pt. Debu Chowdhary & his son Sri Prateek Chodhary’s Sitar, Mridangam Masterio Dr. Yella Yenkateswara Rao, Tabla Artist Padmasri Ustad Shafaat Ahmad Khan, AIR Veena Artist Shri Dhulipala Srinivas, Hyderabad have entertained the great Music Lovers.

As usual, this year also, Shri Rama Navami celebrations was organized in collaboration with Andhra Association, South Delhi Branch at the Andhra Association Building. For the first time, the society organized a Function of Spiritual Discourse by Acharya Ghana Dr. Aripirala Viswam (Hyderabad) in April and also felicitated newly elected Members of Parliament (both from Lok Sabha & Rajya Sabha) from Andhra Pradesh in July at AP Bhawan. First time, our society organized Former Prime Minister of India and Bharat Ratna late Smt. Indira Gandhi’s Birthday Celebration in November. On this occasion Sh. G.V.G. Krishna Murthy, Former Election Commissioner of India, was the Chief Guest and some of the VIPs like Sh. H.J. Dora, Vigilance Commissioner, CVC, Dr. P.L. Sanjeev Reddy, Director, IIPA, Dr. C.R. Prasad, Former CMD of GAIL were also attended. On this occasion our society honoured Hyderabad based Industrialist Sh. C.L. Rajam (Director, SEW Constructions Ltd.) and Dr. Dinesh Chandra Bhargava, Vedic Scholar, Astrologist and Cosmetic Surgeon. After that, we had organized excellent programme of ‘Violin Symphony Indian Music’ by 36 students from Aarabhi Violin School, Hyderabad led by Shri Ashok Gurjale. This programme attracted the audience.
2005 – The 29th year
The 29th Annual Cultural & Film Festival was inaugurated by Shri Subodh Kant Sahay, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Food Processing Industries (Independent Charge), Govt. of India at IIPA Auditorium in New Delhi. On this occasion Sri K. Padmanabhaiah, Former Home Secretary, Sri K.S. Sarma, CEO, Prasar Bharati, Ministry of I & B and Dr. C.R. Prasad, Former CMD, GAIL were also attended as .a special invitees. On this occasion our Society Honoured Shri Malladi Krishna Rao, MLA, Yenam, Prof. K.S. Chalam, Member, UPSC, Sri C.P. Jain, CMD, NTPC, Sri C. Ramulu, Director (F), HPCL and Smt. Vanishree, a famous Film Actress and also organized Kuchipudi Dance by Kiran Krishna & Disciples from Delhi. In the Valedictory Function, Shri B.B. Tandon, Chief Election Commissioner, Election Commission of India was the Chief Guest and in his presence, the Society honoured prominent personalities in various fields like Shri Subir Raha, CMD, ONGC, Ms. L.R. Eswari, a popular playback singer and Sri G. Anand, Music Director from Chennai and followed by ‘Swaramadhuri’ a Musical Programme under G. Anand at IIPA Auditorium. Ms. L.R. Eswari had greatly entertained the Music Lovers with her old popular songs.

As usual, this year also, Shri Rama Navami celebrations was organized in collaboration with Andhra Association, South Delhi Branch at the Andhra Association Building. For the first time, the society organized a 3 day Mega Event of Musical Concert 2005 for National Integration on 22nd, 23rd & 24th April, 2005 at Sathya Sai International Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. This Mega Function was inaugurated by Sri N. Gopalaswami, Election Commissioner, Election Commission of India. In the inaugural function we had organised an excellent programme of ‘Violin Symphony Indian Music’ by 36 students from Aarabhi Violin School Hyderabad led by Shri Ashok Gurjale. This programme attracted the audience greatly. On the 2nd day of the event, the society organized a ‘Jugalbandi’ programme by All India Radio artists from Hyderbad and Delhi, featuring Sri Naga Raju (Flute), Sri K. Achhi Babu (Clarionet), Sri KLN Sastry on Violin and Sri P. Jaya Bhaskar on Tabla. On the concluding (i.e. 3rd day), we honoured the renowned and highly revered Dr. M. Balamurali Krishna and Violin Masterio Padmasri Sri Kunnakudi Vaidhyanathanm. They had also given live performances on the stage separately to the delight and ecstasy of the Audience. Lastly, as a befitting conclusion to the Mega Event, the Society, for the first time, organized grandly ‘Lord’ Srinivasa Kalyanam with the support of TTD. Delhi based Vedic Scholor, Cosmetic Surgeon Dr. Dinesh Chandra Bhargava performed the Pooja and on that occasion we distributed 5000 Tirupati Laddus (Prasam) to devotees.
2006 - THE 30TH YEAR
The 30th Annual Cultural & Film Festival was inaugurated by Shri N. Gopalaswami, Chief Election Commissioner, Election Commission of India at IIPA Auditorium in New Delhi. On this occasion our President & Former Power Secretary Sri P. Abraham presided over the function. Dr. C.R. Prasad, Former CMD, GAIL and Dr. U.N.B. Rao, Former Jt. Police Commissioner were also attended as special invitees. On this occasion our Society Honoured Shri T. Sankarlingam, CMD, NTPC, SriA.K. Puri, CMD, BHEL, Sri S. Prabhakar Rao, Former CMD, GAIL and Dr. V.K. Garg, CMD, Power Finance Corporation (luckly all are belongs to power sector) and also organized a Karnatic Sangeeta Kacheri led by Smt. UV. Naga Lakshmi and we screened a New Telugu Movie’ Sainikudu’. In the Valedictory Function we had organized a Musical Programme ‘Sangeeta Vibhavari’ led by N.V. Partha Sarathi & Group from Hyderabad. Society honoured him along with other singers Siva Prasad, Mrs. Sunanda and Mrs. Surekha Murty.

As usual, this year also, Shri Rama Navami celebrations was organized in collaboration with Andhra Association, South Delhi Branch at the Andhra Association Building. Second year in succession, our society organized a 3 day Mega Event of Musical Concert 2006 for National Integration on 21st, 22nd & 23rd April, 2006 at Sathya Sai International Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. This Mega Function was inaugurated by Supreme Court Judge Sri Justice R.V. Raveendran. In the inaugural function we organised an excellent programme of ‘Jugalbandi’ by renowned Mohan veena Artist pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt and Chennai based Violin Artist Ms. Kanya Kumari. On 2nd of the event, society organized a ‘THOUGHTS’ (a Musical Evening) by renowned Mridangam Masterio Guru Kaaraikkudi Mani & Friends, Chennai. On the concluding function (i.e. 3rd day), we organized two programmes one is ‘Whistle Wizard’ K. Siva Prasad & Party (Hyderabad)’s Carnatic & Hindustani Music on Whistle (Eelapaata Sangeeta Kacheri) and second is Sitar Programme by Sri Prateek Chaudhuri, supported by Ustad Akhram Khan on Tabla, N. Padmanabhan on Mridangam. Lastly, Lord Srinivasa Kalyanam was grandly organized this year also for the second successive year with the help of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam, Tirupati and this time also we distributed 5000 Tirupati Laddus (Prasadam) to devotees.

As usual, this year also, Shri Rama Navami celebrations was organized in collaboration with Andhra Association, South Delhi Branch atAndhra Association Building. We honoured Mega Star Chiranjeevi in March on the occasion of his Padma Bhushan Award from Govt. of India. We conducted 3 day National Theatre Festival at AP Bhawan with the support of M/s Sri Krishna Art Theatre, New Delhi.
2007 – THE 31ST YEAR
3 – Day mega Event on April 20th, 21st& 22nd
Organized 3 – Day Mega Event of Musical Concert & Lord Srinivasa Kalyanam at Stya Sai International Centre, Lodi Road, new Delhi. The 3-Day Festival was inaugurated by the Supreme Court Judge Hon’ble Mr. Justice B. Sudarshan Reddy. The function was presided over by Dr. C.R. Prasad, former CMD, Gas Authority of India Ltd., former Home Secretary Sri K. Padmanabhaiah, Prasar Bharati Member Sri P. Siva Kumar also graced the occasion.

Organized a 2 Day Mega Event/Festival out side the national capital for the first time at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The grand function was inaugurated by Prof.l. Venugopala Reddy, Vice Chancellor, Andhra University, Visakhapatanam.
Day – 1 Programme
Organized a ‘Jugal Bandi’ Carnatic Concert by all India Radio Artists, Hyderabad. This was led by Veena Artist Dhulipala Srinivas along with his associates V. Nagaraju on Flute, Dwaram Satyanarayan on Violin accompanied by Vankayala Venkata Ramana Murty (AIR, Visakhapatnam) on Mridangam, Nemani Somayajulu on Ghatam, Ghantasala Satya Soi on Morsing.
Day – 2 Programme
Organized a Saxophone Concert by Padmasri Dr. Kadri Gopalnath & Party, Chennai followed by Lord Srinivasa Kalyanam by TTD Priests Sri P. Sitaramacharyulu and Sri A.P. Srinivasa Dikshitulu and Tirupati Laddus were distributed to devotees free of cost. Same day in the morning, TTD Priests performed Swamivari Mangala Snanalu and Abhishekam at the residence of Mr. V.N. Chenulu, Madhurawada. Large number of devotees witnessed the functions on both the days.

Organized the 31st Annual Cultural & Film Festival in the A.P. Yatirajulu, Hon’ble Judge, High Court of Andhra Pradesh inaugurated the Mega Event and Sri P.K. Bishnoi, CMD of Vizag Steel Plant Presided over the function. Former Cabinet Secretary Sri T.R. SVBC (Sri Venkateswar Bhakti Channel, Tirupati) given direct live telecast from Amalapuram and Tirupati Laddus also distributed to devotees.

Organized a 2 – Day Mega Event of Musical concerts & Lord Srinivasa Kalyanam for the third time at Swarna Bharati Indoor Stadium, Visakhapatnam, Society General Secretary Sri Ch. Ganapathi and Sri Y. Srinivasa Rao, Director (Sports), Swarna Bharati Stadium inaugurated the Mega Event.

Organized a ‘Harmony Band of Fusion’ by T.V.P.S. Nagaraju& Party, Hyderabad.

Organized Carnatic SangeetaKacheri by a ‘Violin Trio’ Sangeeta Kalanidhi Padmasri M.S Gopalakrishan, his daughter Mrs. M. Narmada and his Son G. Suresh Kumar from Chennai. This was followed by ‘Ghantasala Bhakti Swaramadhuri’ by Angadi Siva Prasad & Party, Kadinada.

Organized ‘Swara Laya Sudha’ a Carnatic Sangeeta Kacheri. This was led by AIR artist P. Jaya Bhaskar accompanied by V. Nagaraju on Flute, G.S. Narayana on Violin, Nanda Kumar on Sitar, Thakur Premender Singh on Tabla, Saraswatula Hanumantha Rao on Ghatam, K.V.V. Satyanarayana Murty on Kanjira. This was followed by the Kalyanam of Lord Balaji. Kalyanam was performed by TTD Priests Sri Sridhara Bhattacharyulu and Sri AP. Srinivasa Dikshitulu and Tirupati Laddus also distributed to the devotees. In the morning, Swami Vari Abhishekam and Mangala Snanalu were performed by the Priests at the residence of Peruru Jamindar Sri J. Srinivasa Ramars.

Celebrated 34th Annual Cultural & Film Festival at AP. Bhawan Auditorium, New Delhi. This was inaugurated by Supreme Court Judge Hon’ble Mr. Justice A.K. Patnaik and Sri P. Abraham, former Power Secretary and President, ACWS presided over the function. Other dignitaries present in the function include Or. U.N.B. Rao, IPS (Retd.) and Sri V.S. Rao, Vice President, ACWS.

On this occasion, organized ‘Ghantasal Swara Madhuri’ a Cine Musical Programme by Angadi Siva Prasad & Party, Kakinada on the eve of 88th Birth Anniversary of renowned Playback singer ‘Padmasri’ Ghantasala. Sri Siva Prasad enthralled the audience with classical duets along with the female singer Mrs. Sailaja. Shri P. Santaram on Flute, Narasimha on Key Board, Siva on Tabla and Suresh Electronic Pads provided excellent music to the programme.
